English: This ribbon was probably worn by Sol Smith when he served as Chairman at a meeting of Unconditional Unionists at the Mercantile Library in early 1861. The men at this meeting chose delegates to represent their party at the Missouri State Convention in 1861, the convention which elected a provisional government. Sol.
